MyPressi
February 25th, 2010 by Blake SinclairI got a new toy. It’s a Twist by MyPressi. It’s essentially the best travel companion for any coffee nerd. It takes nitrous oxide chargers to provide 9 bars of pressure, to a 52mm double-dose basket. The hot water is provided through a little chamber on top. No power needed. I pair it with a Hario Skerton.
New Bike Day!
February 11th, 2010 by Blake SinclairTop 9 of 2009
February 3rd, 2010 by Blake SinclairI figured I had all of January to post up a top 9 for 2009. Then, the day the iPad was released, my iPod completely wiped itself clean. I don’t keep a back up of my music, so I was pretty much screwed.
So it took me about a week to remember and compile these albums. I know that nobody really cares what albums I liked in 2009, but that’s the beauty of the internet. I can post up whatever I like. So here’s what I got, in alphabetical order.
Bone Storm – Demo
Coalesce – OX
Complete Failure – Heal No Evil
Contagium
Graf Orlock – Destination Time Today
Hellshock – They Wait For You Still
Iron Age – The Sleeping Eye
Narrows – New Distances
Sarke – Vorunah
I put together a little playlist as well, including 2 or 3 songs from each album. Available for download as a Zip or Sitx. Enjoy.

Thanksgiving 2009
November 29th, 2009 by Blake SinclairHalloween 09
November 5th, 2009 by Blake SinclairI had a fun Halloween. My band did 4 Black Flag cover sets in 3 days.
We played Seesquat with Hunky Punkz.

Hunky Punkz by me.
And Wreckroom with Concussions and a Murder City Devils cover band.

Black Rats by Jenn
After a month of practicing only Black Flag, I’ll be happy to start writing original stuff again.
Cold Dog
October 20th, 2009 by Blake SinclairI missed the first cold of the season here in NY. I was in Virginia, then San Francisco for a few weeks, so today was my first chilly morning. So I made the first macchiato of the winter. I picked up some Circus Dog Espresso from Coffee Lab Roasters in Tarrytown, NY. A bit bitter, but carries good body, and a mildly sweet finish.
TIPB
October 20th, 2009 by Blake SinclairOver a year ago, I started a blog with a few friends from Art Center. The concept was to give each other assignments each month. The blog has grown both in creativity and popularity, as we’ve added more people. The last assignment was Renaissance, and I photographed buildings with no sense of perspective.
Marc Ribot for Fretboard Journal
September 28th, 2009 by Blake SinclairI was asked to photograph Marc Ribot for a story in Fretboard Journal a few months ago. Listening to the writer and Marc talk was like a crash course in avant-garde free-jazz music, and guitar history. I didn’t want to stop them from conversing to take Marcs portrait, so i tried to float around and capture moments without being obtrusive.
